So here’s a challenge for the new school year – keep your eyes up!  Make an effort to look around you and keep a look-out for options to be Jesus to those around you.  So many times we can get caught up in our own stuff: physical stuff (like our phones and our schedule) or personal stuff (like only thinking of ourselves).  God calls us to be aware of what is going on around us.  When we open our eyes, He will alert us to opportunities to encourage others, to share our faith, to just be a smiling face that makes a difference in someone’s day.  This is one Scripture that really brings this idea home:

Colossians 3:1-4

1 So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. 2 Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ – that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. 3 Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life – even though invisible to spectators – is with Christ in God. He is your life. 4 When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you’ll show up, too – the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity, like Christ. (from the Message)

In order to be ready to show your faith to others you have to be looking out for the chance.  Don’t worry – God will give you many of them!!!  Feel free to share in the comments some opportunities that you have had.  Remember that you are not alone in your endeavors!  He is always there, watching and providing for you!

Love ya’ll!!  Michelle
