Over the weekend I had the opportunity to reconnect with a girlfriend that I had not seen for at least 10 years. As we talked and caught up on our children and just life in general I was struck by the fact that even though we had not seen each other or really spoken consistently it felt like no time had passed. Why is that bond as strong as it is? I believe it is because we spent time with each other. We learned about each other and have gone thru both good times and bad. We put forth the effort to learn about each other. Now granted we didn’t always agree. As roommates we had our spats and hurt feelings but we came back together because of mutual love and respect. Even now, we could call each other at anytime if one or the other is in need.

I am reminded that our relationship with God is much the same. He is always with us no matter where we are, no matter where we go. My question is what kind of relationship do you have with God? Is he like my friend that you have spent time with and have faded away from time to time? Is he the God that you only call when you are in trouble? In Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10 it talks about how 2 people are better than 1 because they can do more together and if one falls down the other can lift them back up. It also says how it is sad that when 1 is all alone there is no one to help them up. You ALL have someone to help you back up. Whether it be friends, family, your church, or your faith family from PYOCA. We are always here, just a text, call or email away. You also have a loving father that never sleeps and never gets tired of hearing from you. He wants the good, the bad, and even the ugly. He wants it all. Take the time to spend with God and learn who he is and want he wants for you. He wants to be that friend…
